So... I'm 20 now.
That's a bit weird to type. Like 19 felt normal. 20 sounds like I should probably know what I'm doing with my life.
Going from 19 to 20 seems more like a psychological thing to me. You know because I'm still the same person I was yesterday. The number changed but I'm still here in my room typing this blog at 1:14 AM on 13 Sept 2026 (my bday btw).
Technically, I'm not a teenager anymore. Which itself comes with some responsibilities. People start expecting things from us now. Like what I'm planning about my life.
But as I said, I'm still the same Ujwal I was yesterday. I'm in college, learning things, making decisions, meeting new people, messing things up.
I still feel like the same person who doesn't know what the hell he's doing half the time. But I'd take the time to say that I'm now more aware of myself than I was a couple of years ago.
I understand friendships, people, mistakes, loneliness, ambitions, college, a little differently. But I'm still figuring it out.
I'm 20 today, but I don't really feel 20.
I don't feel older. I don't feel wiser. I don't even feel responsible tbh.
I just feel... like me, but with a different number.
And because the cake wasn't enough, I bought myself a domain today. As a birthday gift for myself. Not because I'm trying to be a blogger or influencer but because I wanted to start something as I enter my twenties.
I don't really know where this website is going. Maybe I'll write every week or disappear after this blog. Maybe I'll write something philosophical today and then completely stupid blog tomorrow. We'll see.
Maybe that's what I want my 20s to be. Not the year I figure everything out but when I start more things.
I have some things planned for this year:
I want to build more things.
I want to write more.
I want (or need) to start DSA.
I want to meet more people.
I want to stop overthinking things.
I probably won't succeed at that last one. But I'll try.
So yeah. I'm 20. And here's to this little website that I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do with.
And lastly, I'd like to say: Happy Birthday, Ujwal.
Reach the heights, be brave, be awesome, be you. ๐
Get. Set. Go. ๐
Turning 20, buying a domain, and pretending I know what I'm doing with my life.
